Building Products Digest Recognizes Great Southern


ABBEVILLE, AL - Building Products Digest has named Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., as the second largest manufacturer of pressure-treated lumber products in the United States. The listing was published in the magazine's April 2003 issue in which it recognizes the industry's "Top 25 Treaters." This is the second consecutive year Great Southern has received this distinction.

Founded in 1970 in Abbeville, Alabama, Great Southern has grown to include plants in Mobile, Alabama; Muscle Shoals, Alabama; Conyers, Georgia; Statesboro, Georgia; Columbus, Texas; Memphis, Tennessee; and Sumter County, Florida.

From appearance-grade boards, to dimensional lumber, heavy timbers, specialty items and fence panels, the company offers a complete array of products including EON, the wood alternative decking system.
